NASREEN JAMAAL – JHARKHAND
Dr. Nasreen Jamal is the state convener of Jharkhand and has been very active member. She has done MA in Sociology and post graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication. She has been awarded doctorate degree in Sociology from Ranchi University and her subject was “Modernization in Working Muslim Women”. She is also secretary of SHRISTY, an organization who exclusively works for mainstreaming of marginalized section. She has been associated with Development Sector for more than 12 years with different civil society organization in Jharkhand working on various issues primarily on Health & Nutrition, Education, and Livelihood with special focus on gender and Muslim women. She has strong relationship management skills in networking and advocacy with government and non-government stakeholders. She is a good trainer on the issues of health, life skills, HIV/AIDS, RCH, livelihood, gender and leadership and also developed modules. She has been empanelled in the national trainer for the HIV/AIDS and Life Skill. She has actively worked with local youth leaders, adolescents, and community women group leaders, adolescent peer educators, VHC, VEC and NGOs personals. She has done research on the women issues related to their health and livelihood. She has always been regularly invited as a speaker on different forums at the state and national to speak on the status of Muslim and marginalized women of the Jharkhand. At present she has been extensively working for Muslim women on different issues throughout the Jharkhand.
